Wolves and Coyotes

Wolves are usually grey animals. Together with coyotes and jackals they are considered to be the most dangerous predators. And according to researches of scientists wolves are ancestors of dogs and dogs are considered to be the representatives of subspecies of wolves.

Some time ago people could meet a great number of wolves in Europe, Asia and North America. But nowadays there are only a few wolves left in the world. It is connected with the damage of natural conditions in which wolves live, killing of wolves, and urbanization. But in many regions of the world wolves are still critically endangered and only in some regions of the world the number of wolves is stable.

In spite of the fact that the population of wolves decreases people still continue killing wolves as they are potential danger for people and domestic animals. But the worst is that sometimes they are killed just to get pleasure.

But wolves play an important role in the life of nature. They are integral part of ecosystem. There are 32 species of wolves in different parts of the world.

Wolves were considered to be dangerous for a long time. But in fact wolves are not more dangerous than lions, tigers and bears.

People tried to domesticate wolves and to use them with their personal purposes, but they didn't succeed as they realised that this predator can't be domesticated. And only their brothers – dogs are friends of people.
