Penguins

Penguins are the only birds that can't fly but can swim very well. They are also able to dive.
The biggest of the known species today is the emperor penguin. Its weight may be 45 kilograms while the smallest penguin korora has the weight 1 kilogram.
Penguin differs a lot from other birds. The form of the body of penguins is streamline that is favourable for moving in water. The arms of penguins are flippers and muscles of the body as well as the structure of their bones allow them to swim better.
Under the water penguins may take the speed of 5-10 kilometres per hour and sometimes even more. They are also able to dive and stay under the water more than 20 minutes.
The majority of penguins live in cold climate swimming under the water that may be very cold. The fatness, dense feather, and many other physical features allow them not to freeze in the cold water.
During moult, penguins loose a lot of feather that is why they are unable to swim during this period staying without food until their feather appears again. During this period penguins loose their weight a lot.
The food of penguins is fish, crabs, shrimps and quid.
